The UK’s clean energy mission
The UK is on a mission to take back control of our energy.
For too long, we have been dependent on unstable international fossil fuels markets to power our homes, vehicles and businesses. This means that when global prices soar, as they did after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, our bills go up too.
That is why the government is building an energy system that can protect the British people and bring down bills for good. We are investing in clean, homegrown energy like wind, solar, nuclear and hydrogen, while upgrading millions of homes to make them warmer and cheaper to run.
This is the economic opportunity of the 21st century—securing investment in our communities, creating a new generation of good jobs and growing our economy. And it is how we protect our British way of life by tackling the climate crisis in a way that makes families across the country better off.

Warm Homes: Local Grant
